Making The Most Of A Month - September

Right well, September just by in a whizz didn't it?! It was a month caught up in routine and settling into life with a preschooler and a full time college goer (the OH) while juggling all the usual day to day things that we usually do.

There was lots of procrastinating this month, like a crazy amount. Instead of doing things I'd noted down, I did other things, like clean out all the kitchen cupboards, just avoid doing some of the pressing things on September's to do list! Not all hope was lost however:

  • The garden is looking neat and tidy and ready for the winter. I planted some Autumn flowers to give it one last bit of colour. A lavender bush and thyme bush was added to the back flower bed which I hope will fill in the gaps next Spring. Other plants were potted so that they can be easily transported inside once the Winter hits.

  • I moved more, slightly anyway. I did my first ever spinning class at the end of the month! Hands down the hardest fitness class I've done before but I can't let it beat and am going it my second class this week, for my sins
  • I've been pretty good with the eating better, bringing my lunches and prepping dinners in advance, makes a huge difference to purse and the waistline.
  • Been trying to sort out my work experience but remembered that I can't do it without Garda vetting and that can be sorted until I renew my passport...can you see one thing that is making it's way to the October to do list already?!
  • Date night didn't happen this month, we just haven't had the time off together but noting that we didn't make it this month will push me more to make sure we find the time in next month.
  • I got Luke to the beach, well the Cobh's answer to the beach. I have no excuse here as we drive passed it nearly everyday but it's finding the time to stop when he asks.

  • I have been taking more photographs too. Haven't had a chance to go through them all yet but hopefully there'll be some in there worthy of sharing.
I managed to do a few of the not so important bits that I wanted to do but really need to focus on the more important things for October and stop putting things on the long finger. Having the to do list to look back on has been handy though for reinforcing what really needs to be done next month.

How was your September?

  1. September was just a month that whizzed past for me. Like you, my OH and I had planned to have an evening out together but it didn't happen. I have so much to do this month as a result of my slacking in September, but just a week in, I am already behind argh!

  2. September when by in a blink of an eye for us, I think it was because Lillibug started school! I'm hoping October will be my month for getting more organised so I'm all about the lists too x
